Personal Counselling - Whether we like it or not there are times when we all struggle with a variety of personal issues, challenges and dilemmas, which if not addressed effectively can have a negative impact on how we choose to live our lives. These problems could be preventing us from being as effective as we would like to be and as a result we are unable to move forwards in our lives. When this happens we may decide to solve our problems on our own or turn to friends or family, occasionally though, perhaps when a problem feels too sensitive or complicated we may choose to seek independent help and support. Counselling provides this necessary support and is designed to enhance our lives, validate choices, promote personal growth and bring about positive change.

Counselling always begins by establishing the most effective way we can work together. Goals are explored and time scales discussed. The number of sessions required depends entirely on your specific needs and circumstances. Often our work can be accomplished within a brief period of time provided you feel comfortable and have achieved a solution and a way forward that feels right for you. Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and the initial consultation meeting is free of charge providing us both with an opportunity to explore what you hope to achieve in our work together.

Stress Management & Resilience - Stress is an inevitable part of our lives and can be caused by many factors or events. You may have moved home, have financial worries or a relationship may have ended leaving you feeling alone and isolated. In the work place it could be the fear of unplanned change or being overwhelmed by too many tasks and not getting any feedback from the work you do. Deadlines, understaffing, lack of job security are all major contributions to stress, not being able to delegate or having any real responsibility for decision making can create stress. Stress Management Counselling will help you to construct effective techniques that will enable you to enjoy a healthier balance between achievement and success when confronted with any potential stressful aspects of your life.

Coaching tends to focus on 3 key areas: -

Coaching is solution focussed, non-directive and non-judgemental and is an excellent tool to help you to reappraise your life, personal values, beliefs and goals which in turn will move you forwards enabling you to create fresh new opportunities coupled with a greater sense of personal satisfaction in your life.

Coaching sessions take place either face to face or via the telephone and are designed to fit in with your time schedule. During an initial assessment session you can explore and clarify your current position, specify your objectives together with the time scale in which you would like to achieve them. Each programme is individually tailored to address your specific needs in order to ensure both continuity and focus throughout.

Today we live in a world where our work no longer has to be a means to an end neither is a job for life. It is not uncommon for many of us to spend years training in one particular area of industry and then realise that we are not fulfilling our own personal needs and objectives for the lifestyle we desire. We may feel trapped and wonder what other options there are open to us that would enable us to transfer some of the skills we enjoy, let go of those that no longer fulfil us and at the same time embrace and learn new skills that will assist us in moving forwards with a view to achieving our own personal career objective.

The Career Coaching & Transition Programme™ is a process that will enable you to recognise and utilise your resources and assist you in making career related decisions enabling you to address and manage any career related issues. Whilst the focus will be on the work-related part of your life, we also take into account the interdependence of both career and non-career considerations in order that you can achieve a fulfilling work-life balance.

Much of the focus with Career Coaching is centred on identifying a career change strategy by working with you to examine and identify your key strengths, skills and abilities and at the same time explore your likes and dislikes from the past in order that you can move forward in your professional life and develop further. It may be that you recently applied for a new role and choose to work on enhancing your interviewing skills. Perhaps you are considering a complete career change and need to clarify which options might be open to you; these could include self-employment, portfolio working or new business opportunities. By employing a non-directive approach, each of these options can be explored fully, which will equip you with the right tools for a successful journey towards greater career fulfilment.

Designed with you in mind
A typical Career Coaching Programme consists of an initial no cost assessment discussion or meeting where you can explore and clarify your current position, specify your objectives together with the time scale in which you would like to achieve them. Coaching sessions take place either face to face or via the telephone and are designed to fit in with your time schedule. Sessions are charged on an hourly or monthly basis. Throughout the duration of your coaching programme e-mail and additional telephone support is provided for you at no charge. During an initial assessment session goals are clarified and your objectives agreed. Each programme is individually tailored to address your specific needs in order to ensure both continuity and focus throughout and can include some or all of the following component parts.
